This isn't really news since The Bachelor's Shayne Lamas, 22, and Matt Grant, 27, have only been a pretend couple for over a month. But the two officially confirmed their split to People on Thursday.
Neither would elaborate on the reason for the breakup, saying only (in their joint statement) "We tried hard to make it work but we realized that we were both heading in different directions."
They also threw in the standard "We truly care about each other and will remain close friends."
Whatever your opinions on what Kate Moss, 34, chooses to put up her nose, the woman is still making serious bank. Forbes ranks her #83 on the list of top 100 celebrity power players; and estimates she earned $7.5 million from June 2007-to-June 2008.
Incredulous?
The August issue of Vogue is a good indicator of her success. In addition to being its feature story, and making the cover, Moss is in practically every ad. Alright, so I'm being hyperbolic. But I counted three. (It seemed like a lot more when I started this posting, so I'm still going with it.)
[Click to Enlarge Pics] As far as the Plum Sykes profile on Moss, there's nothing particularly noteworthy; however, the model/"mogulette" does mention she has no plans to quit smoking because it's a part of who she is. (She started puffing on Marlboro Lights when she was 14.)
"I don't want to create a phony facade," she says of her decision not to quit. "I think I just have to be myself; otherwise, I'd be a paranoid mess."
(I wish David Sedaris had taken that stance. It would have made things easier for everyone.)
Oh, and John Galliano says Moss has a large following in fashion because "she lives it as much as she embodies it." Also, she collects it. Moss has over 1,000 pieces; and has a massive room containing nothing but clothes and "rails." (She said it not me.)
If you think you have a fucked up name, tell it to 9-year-old Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii (who is actually from New Zealand). Yes that's her real name. But it won't be for much longer.
A New Zealand judge has made Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii a ward of the court so she can have her name changed, according to CNN.
The ruling was made public Thursday; and listed a slew of other strange monikers NZ parents had given to their children. Some of which include Benson and Hedges, Violence and Number 16 Bus Shelter (which might actually be worse than TDHHFH).
But in Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii's case, she had a hard time accepting it. She was, reportedly, so embarrassed, she refused to tell her friends her real name. Instead she told them to call her K.
Anne Hathaway's private diaries have been seized by the FBI "as part of their ongoing investigation into 12 counts of wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering charged against her ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, 29." [Us, NYDN]
Hathaway, 25, has not been implicated in any of his alleged crimes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to Star (so it must be true), Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, 21, and P. Diddy Daddy, 38, are engaged.
"He told everyone to keep it extremely quiet because he didn't want it to get out, but you could tell he was excited," an disclosed source said to the mag. "Diddy said they hadn't set a date yet, but he wanted his family to hear the news first."
Diddy Daddy, allegedly, revealed his engagement at his son Justin's eighth-grade graduation ceremony in Riverdale, N.Y., on June 5.
His 10-year, off and on, relationship with model Kim Porter came to an end last July.
I'm pretty sure I don't believe this. But there you have it.
Dustin "Screech" Diamond, 31, is planning to write a tell-all book--Behind the Bell--about the nearly 13 years he spent working on the wildly popular series Saved by the Bell.
It promises to detail "sexual escapades among cast members, drug use, and hardcore partying," according toNY Mag's Vulture.
Although, I don't know how much credibility I'd attach to Diamond's side of the story. Anyone who has seen him acting like a little bitch on Celebrity Fit Club, knows he's delusional, and has a tendency to stretch the truth*.
I'm not sure when this book is supposed to come out. But when it does, expect libel suits.
I wonder if it will mention Diamond's foray into porn?
Luke "Skyyywalker" Campell, formerly of 2 Live Crew, walked down the aisle on Saturday.
"I waited 47 years to find a special woman and have found that in Kristin [Thompson]," he told People. "I never knew that I could feel love on another level like this until I met her, and I am now honored to call her my wife."
I believe the part about him not knowing he "could feel love on another level." Have you heard 2 Live Crew's song "Hoochie Mama?"
I know I'll never forget it. That's mostly because at the height of "Hoochie Mama's" popularity, 106 KMEL (a San Francisco-based radio station) had the clean version on loop, and literally played it every 15 minutes.
Some of the lyrics, from the non-clean version include:
I don't know her reputation But all the niggas in the hood say it's all good But the bitch ain't shit, so you need to make a switch Smackin' on ya lips with your hands on your hips Triflin' slimy, don't try me Playin' on the phone? You supposed to be grown Bitch, stop lyin', I ain't with it Keep runnin' ya mouth and I'ma stick my dick in it Hoochie hoodrat needs home training Ghetto-ass always complaining Tryin to clown in front of my friends By the way, bitch, can I get those ends? Fuck theatrics, you ain't no actress Lay on the mattress and let a nigga splak it The bitch is full of DRAMA!! Hoochie hoodrat is a hoe like her momma!
Niice. Still, I liked that song.
2 Live Crew is also responsible for the Nasty as They Wanna Be album. And the "Me So Horn Horny" song.
Campbell and Thompson, 27, were married in Dallas, Texas, with about 300 guests in attendance.
["Hoochie Mama" video. Warning: Explicit lyrics]
And expect to see more of Campbell. He's getting his own VH1 reality show called Luke's Parental Advisory. It premieres August 4.
I missed the live Project Runway after-show (I didn't even know there was one). But apparently that's when Daniel and Wesley (the guy who was just eliminated) were outed as a couple.
According to a privy ONTD-er, Andy Cohen, senior vice president of Bravo programming, told them "to get married in California and be the first Project Runway super couple."
Welsey's pretty hott, but he did get Auf'd while wearing shorts and loafers (without socks).
And FYI:I just tried to watch the after-show online and you either have to be an American Express cardmember, or become one, to watch it.
If celebrities refuse to sell their baby's pictures, apparently, the tabloids will settle for a picture of a picture. Star sure showed Halle Berry. [Jezebel]
I'm surprised it didn't hype this as the "Exclusive first picture of Nahla."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At least we don't have to wonder what Matthew McConaughey's son Levi looks like. [Jezebel]
He'll be losing his flip-flops in a ditch before you know it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also of note, in Jezebel's "Midweek Madness" posting, is Dodai, clownin' on Audrina Patridge's breast implants.
She writes: "I Hate this picture of Audrina 'flaunting' her body, because those fake boobs are crazytown."
I guess this means selective "nasty blog commenting" is okay? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Speaking of hypocrites, Perez Hilton is all but throwing rocks at radio personality Michael Savage, for the ignorant remarks he made about autistic children.
While not an entirely acceptable reaction, it might be understandable...if Perezhadn't previously referred to them as "retards." That's "retard" with a hard R.
Tricia Walsh-Smith-- the desperate housewife (unintentional) who aired her husband's sexual inadequacies via vlog-- got burned in court on Monday.
Or as NYP kindly put it, she finally got screwed. (In one of many viral rants, Walsh-Smith revealed that her Broadway millionaire mogul husband, Philip Smith, 76-ish, had been unable to consummate their eight-year marriage. Walsh-Smith, 52, professed that, particularly, irked and hurt her because she'd recently found his secret stash of Viagra. In turn, she did what any person of sound mind would. She called Smith's office and told his secretary about it...while filming)
A judge ruled Walsh-Smith was only entitled to $750,000, the amount agreed upon in the prenup. (She wanted more.) And he told her she had 30 days to vacate the Park Avenue pad, made famous by her YouTube videos.
Furthermore, the judge concluded that Walsh-Smith's popular vlogs caused Smith "to suffer tremendously," and even incited "heart problems." It goes without saying, but he was granted a divorce.
Undeterred, Walsh-Smith said she was "going to go down swinging," and added that she thought the ruling "sucked."
She also rattled off something about "President Bush", "Iraq," "democracy" and an appeal.
