Did Anne Hathaway Lose it on Letterman Last Night?

No, not really. But Gawker described Hathaway as "testy" and "exasperated" when David Letterman questioned her about her former relationship with convicted conman Raffaello Follieri.

While Daily Intel said not so much.

Anyway, Hathaway, 25, undeniably, wasn't as forthcoming as we'd all probably like (but don't expect) her to be. (Also, apparently she quit smoking.)

Anne Hathaway is High Maintenance (Surprise!)

Fresh off a four-year stint with, the now incarcerated, conman Raffaelo Folliere (who she may or may not have outed), Anne Hathaway is now being reported as demanding. And kind of a bitch.

According to OK!:

Rumors of high-maintenance requests have swirled around the actress, making many wonder whether Anne is taking a cue from a different character from the popular movie [The Devil Wears Prada] about a demanding boss and those who serve her. After delaying a day of interviews with just her breakfast order, Anne is beginning to resemble editrix Miranda Priestly instead of down-to-earth Andy.“Anne requested lattes but only ones with soy milk, so she made a guy go out and bring back five soy lattes for her and her crew,” Then she requested scrambled eggs since she didn’t like the breakfast available. The same guy had to go to a restaurant next door and ask for the eggs. It took 45 minutes, and then she barely even touched them!”

By Hathaway's own admission, she can be difficult to work with. In the October issue of W Hathaway says she reacted rudely when her Rachel Getting Married director Jonathan Demme made changes to the script.

"I said ‘Jonathan! Why did you change this?! It was better the other way and here’s A, B, C, D, E, F, G why!’ And he smiled at me and said, ‘Hey, Annie? Maybe instead of telling me why I’m wrong, you could ask me why I made the choice I made.’” With that response, she says, memories of herself being dismissive or abrasive on sets past came rushing back. “I instantly felt so ashamed,” she says. “I didn’t mean to be disrespectful to people, but that’s exactly what I had done for years.” --Excerpted from W.

And then there are rumors that Hathaway, 25, and her Bride Wars co-star Kate Hudson, 29, didn't get along; rumors that were kind of confirmed when Hathaway couldn't even fake her way through The View.

But on a positive note, Hathaway is getting Oscar buzz for her role in Rachel is Getting Married; in which she plays a drug addict who returns home for her sister's wedding. Couple that hype with all of the Forrieri drama, which has earned her more publicity than any of her movies* (and might actually explain some of the hype), I'd say Hathaway's star is on the rise. Expect her to be more famous than ever.

In Daily Raffaello Follieri-Related News...

The Smoking Gun has acquired a U.S. District Court File listing the jewelery Anne Hathway had to surrender to the FBI because it was given to her by former boyfriend Raffaello Follieri. Follieri pleaded guilty to 14 counts of fraud, conspiracy and money laundering in federal court on Wednesday.

Among the 12 confiscated items are Rolex watches and a five-strand necklace with pearls beads; in total, all, probably worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. While Hathaway, 25, is not specifically named in the documents, she is referred to as "individual" or Follieri's "girlfriend."

In other Follieri news, John McCain, 72, apparently spent part of his his 70th birthday aboard a yacht the con man rented in Montenegro in 2006. Yes, as seen in the picture below, Follieri and celebrity, girlfriend at the time, Anne Hathaway were there too.

Just so we're clear, Barack Obama is not allowed to hobnob with the celebrity set, because that would make him an "uppity" elitist. But John McCain did ring in the BIG 7-0 with a Hollywood starlet...and her paramour, aboard a vessel, presumably, paid for with ill-begotten funds.

According to Vanity Fair and The Nation, Follieri, 30, rented the Celine Ashley yacht (McCain is pictured boarding) for the month of August 2006.

Vijesti, a leading Montenegro daily, previously reported that during McCain's visit in 2006 he celebrated with birthday cocktails and sweets on the Celine Ashley. The Nation recently obtained the seen photo. Although, how we know that's really McCain in it, I'm not sure. (I mean besides the purple baseball cap, distinctive forearms and old man's slouch.)

Raffaello Follieri (Anne Hathaway's ex) pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, eight counts of wire fraud and five counts of money laundering in a Manhattan federal court on Wednesday.

He could be sentenced to up to 265 years (!) in prison. But Follieri, 30, agreed not to appeal a sentence less than 63 months. [People]

Update: WSJ is reporting that Follieri is actually only facing 51 to 63 months in a U.S. federal prison under sentencing guidelines.

At the time of his arrest (June 24, 2008), Follieri was sharing a $37,000-a-month Manhattan penthouse with Hathaway, 25.

According to Star (so it must be true), Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, 21, and P. Diddy Daddy, 38, are engaged.

"He told everyone to keep it extremely quiet because he didn't want it to get out, but you could tell he was excited," an disclosed source said to the mag. "Diddy said they hadn't set a date yet, but he wanted his family to hear the news first."

Diddy Daddy, allegedly, revealed his engagement at his son Justin's eighth-grade graduation ceremony in Riverdale, N.Y., on June 5.

His 10-year, off and on, relationship with model Kim Porter came to an end last July.

I'm pretty sure I don't believe this. But there you have it.
