When Two Muni Trains Collide

Two Muni train, bus things, collided on Saturday-- when one rear-ended the other. A total of 16 people were injured in the accident, including both drivers. The guy at fault was reportedly speeding--17 mph in a 3 mph zone. And he may have been on his cell phone at the time of the crash. Of course.

Anyone who has driven through San Francisco-- or lives there-- knows this shit (or something like it) was bound to happen. Muni drivers speed like crazy, take up multiple lanes and will unexpectedly pull out in front of you...or next to you. They also fly by, and ignore, hopeful passengers waiting at bus stops, but that's beside the point.

I always figured a cyclist or pedestrian would eventually be run over; or a subcompact would be t-boned. But an accident involving two Munis, that's rich!

And because it's so funny, I decided not to cut the segment on the feral Berkeley tree-sitters.

If you don't want UC Berkeley to raze your precious trees to build a gym, oh-so-lovable hippies, using human waste as a weapon is probably not the best way to go about it. Neither is biting.

For more info. on either story visit SF Gate.

Update: So apparently SEVEN PEDESTRIANS WERE KILLED BY MUNI DRIVERS...LAST YEAR!! Un-fucking-believable!!!
