Jessica Simpson in the May Issue of "Esquire"

I have read that in the May issue of Esquire Jessica Simpson is reenacting a photoshoot done by model/actress Virna Lisi. Hence the semi-strange photo of her shaving her face on the cover I guess.

Update: I found a side-by-side comparison--on A Socialite's Life-- of actress/model Virna Lisi and Jessica Simpson. The May 2008 cover is a "famous recreation of a 1965 Esquire cover" featuring Lisi. [Seen below] Apparently the 60's version was associated with the feminist movement. So why Simpson was chosen for this particular layout is unclear to me.

Because nothing says 'I'm a feminist' quite like this photo, [below] which is also in the May issue of Esquire.When you're posing--for all the world to see-- in a skintight, flesh-colored, soaking wet, bodysuit with your big fake boobs pressed against a clear glass wall, you're not helping the cause.
